Maldives VP departs for New York to attend UN General Assembly

Maldivian Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has departed for New York to participate in the High-level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

He left for the United States on Saturday evening.

According to the President’s Office, VP Hussain is scheduled to deliver statements at high-level meetings and engage in bilateral and multilateral discussions during the visit.

 He will also attend the opening of the general debate and other receptions on the sidelines.

He is expected to conclude his visit and return to Male’ on Saturday.
