Sun Siyam Resorts continued its 36th‑anniversary blood donation campaign on Thursday with a well‑attended event at Sun Siyam Vilureef, following the launch at Olhuveli.
May 8, the anniversary of Sun Siyam Resorts, coincides with World Thalassemia Day, and the company has long observed the date with annual blood donation activities across its properties.
This year’s anniversary campaign at Vilu Reef began in the morning, inaugurated by the resort’s management. A large number of Vilu Reef employees took part, reflecting the resort’s longstanding culture of community service.
Sun Siyam Vilu Reef Resort Manager Thoha Yoosuf noted that employees have been donating blood to the Maldives Blood Services (MBS) blood bank since 2015, and that the resort continues to hold such donation drives every year. He expressed gratitude to Sun Siyam Resorts founder Ahmed Siyam Mohamed for championing initiatives that uplift society.
According to Thoha, more than 50 employees volunteered to donate blood this year on their own initiative.
“True success is not just about business achievements. The positive change we bring to the lives of others is also an important measure of success. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to this noble cause. When we work together, we create hope in the community and leave a lasting impact,” Thoha said.
He also thanked the organizers and MBS for travelling to the resort to facilitate the donation.
Vilu Reef Family Club President Mohamed Hameed described blood donation as a noble and exemplary act of humanity.
“I am extremely proud of the determination and initiative shown by the team in helping those in need. This is shining proof that the Sun Siyam Vilu Reef family will always continue to help the community and save lives,” he said.
Similar blood donation events will be held at other Sun Siyam resorts, beginning with Olhuveli.
Sun Siyam Resorts founder Ahmed Siyam Mohamed continues to lead numerous initiatives aimed at benefiting society and improving the wellbeing of individuals. Even while achieving success in business, Siyam places strong emphasis on compassion, community care, and building a healthier, happier society.
Sun Siyam Resorts operates five of the country’s leading resorts.
Sun Siyam Vilu Reef remains a popular destination among tourists, with a strong base of repeat visitors and a reputation for warm hospitality.
