Siyam says empowering youth is a national duty in International Youth Day message

MP for Meedhoo Constituency and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) President Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has extended greetings to the youth of the Maldives on the occasion of International Youth Day.

In a post on X, Siyam said that while young people live in different circumstances, they share common aspirations, dignity, opportunity and a sustainable future. He said it is the duty of national leaders and society to empower youth to shape the bright future they envision.

“Our duty is to empower them to shape the future they envision,” Siyam wrote.

Siyam’s use of the phrase “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations” at the end of his X post carries a slogan-like weight, underscoring that youth empowerment is not just a policy point but a shared national vision, a reminder that the dreams of young people are deeply connected to the country’s own future.  

One of the most prominent business magnates and politicians in the Maldives, Siyam has consistently placed strong emphasis on youth development. He has undertaken significant efforts to create job opportunities and avenues for advancement for young people in the Meedhoo constituency and across the country. Siyam has also provided generous financial and material support for the development of sports facilities and the organisation of tournaments in areas popular among youth.
