Baarah brothers arrested in drug raid

The police on Sunday arrested two brothers from HA. Baarah in a counter-narcotics operation by the Baarah Police Station and the Counter-Narcotics Intelligence Department.

According to a statement released by the police on Monday afternoon, the operation was conducted based on information received by the Counter-Narcotics Intelligence regarding the smuggling, peddling and use of drugs in Baarah.

The police identified the duo arrested in the case as:

  • Ibrahim Kaleem, 34, Carnation View, HA. Baarah
  • Abdulla Faseeh, 37, Carnation View, HA. Baarah

A local told Sun that the two are half-brothers who share the same mother.

The police said raided a property linked to the suspects, from where they seized 5.96 grams of a suspicious substance believed to be drugs.

They were presented before the court for their remand hearing on Monday morning. Faseeh was remanded in custody of the police for 15 days, while Kaleem was remanded for five days.

The case is under further investigation by the Baarah Police Station.
