Public works units being established in 15 islands

The government has decided to establish public works units in 15 islands as part of an initiative to expand public works units to all atolls of the country.

In a post on X on Monday, Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar announced the 15 islands selected to establish the units. They are:

• Sh. Funadhoo
• N. Manadhoo
• R. Maakurath
• B. Eydhafushi
• Lh. Naifaru
• K. Thulusdhoo
• AA. Rasdhoo
• ADh. Mahibadhoo
• V. Felidhoo
• M. Muli
• F. Nilandhoo
• Dh. Kudahuvadhoo
• Th. Veymandoo
• GA. Vilingili

ރައްޔިތުންނާ ގާތުން، ރާއްޖޭގެ ހުރިހާ އަތޮޅެއްގައި ޢާންމު ޚިދުމަތް ދޭނެ ޔުނިޓްތައް ޤާއިމު ކުރުމަަށް ރޖ. ޑރ މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު @MMuizzu ނިންމަވާފައިވާ ނިންމެވުމުގެ ދަށުން، މިހާރު އެ ޚިދުމަތް ނުދެވޭ އަތޮޅުތަކުގައި އެ ޔުނިޓްތައް ޤާއިމު ކުރާނެ ރަށްތައް ތިރީގައި މިވަނީއެވެ.

According to Adam Shareef, the islands were selected based on the fact that they house atoll councils.

The establishment of the units will complete the initiative to have a public works unit in every atoll, he said.
