MNDF: 12 fire-related incidents last week

The Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) of the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) responded to 23 emergency incidents across various parts of the Maldives last week.

The figures were disclosed in the institution’s latest weekly statistics detailing emergency incidents recorded during the period from July 12^th to July 18^th.

According to the MNDF, fire-related emergencies accounted for the highest number of incidents during the reporting period, with 12 cases recorded.

In addition, the FRS responded to four medical evacuation cases, one hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incident, and one rescue operation. The statistics also show that one miscellaneous incident was attended to during the same period, bringing the total number of emergency responses to 23.

Malé area recorded the highest number of incidents. The MNDF’s Malé Area Command responded to 16 emergencies, while the Central Area Command and Southern Area Command each attended to three incidents. The Northern Area Command responded to one incident.

The MNDF stated that the Fire and Rescue Service remains committed to providing round-the-clock emergency response services to safeguard lives and property across the country.
