Nominations for the Presidential Special Award for Outstanding Achievement opened on Sunday.
The opportunity to submit nominations for the Presidential Special Award for Outstanding Service will remain open until August.
Special awards will be presented in four categories.
The first category recognises individuals who have achieved outstanding results in higher education or professional training. This includes exceptional achievement in a National Qualifications Framework Level 10 qualification, or graduating with the highest academic honour from an institution offering an NQF Level 7, 8 or 9 programme.
The other prize categories are:
Have obtained the highest rank or honour in an international exhibition or competition in which they represented the Maldives
Have achieved remarkable success by developing a new invention or product, or by conducting scientific research aimed at solving a major national challenge
Skilled and talented young people aged 18 to 35 who have achieved notable success through productive and innovative work contributing to national development
When submitting nominations, applicants must ensure that all required documents are completed and submitted with the form, as advised by the Special Awards Committee.
The special awards ceremony will be held on Republic Day, November 11, 2026.
