Six arrested with drugs in raids on two Male’ properties

Six people have been arrested with a large quantity of drugs in a counter-narcotics operation in Male’ City.

According to a statement released by police on Saturday, the joint operation by Counter-Narcotics Intelligence and Drug Enforcement was carried out on Wednesday.

The suspects arrested in the case were identified as:

Mohamed Mahir, 36, Honey Season, Dh. Meedhoo
Rikz Adam, 23, Five Rose, GDh. Thinadhoo
Mohamed Suhan Ahmed, 39, Dhunthari, Lh. Hinnavaru
Abdul Majid Ibrahim, 38, Matharesmaage, Mukurimagu, L. Gan

The police said they raided two properties in Male’, and seized a large quantity of narcotics in the operation.

The suspects were taken to Criminal Court for their remand hearing on Thursday. According to police, Eshad, Mahir, Abdul Majid, and Suhan were remanded in custody of police for 15 days, while Ahil was remanded for 12 days, and Rikz for five days.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
