Former DCP Abdul Shakoor, who served in police for over 43 years, dies

Former Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdul Shakoor Abdulla, who had retired after over four decades of service in the police force, has died.

Abdul Shakoor reportedly died on Tuesday morning in neighboring India.

Abdul Shakoor was credited with playing a key role in building and developing the police service. He had retired from the police force on March 5, 2009, after over 43 years of service.

The police have issued a statement offering condolences to his bereaved family on behalf of the entire police force.

Abdul Shakoor had received the National Service Award in 2024 in recognition of his public service.
