A fire broke out in a home in the Machangolhi district of Male’ City on early Monday, displacing a family.
The fire, which broke out at Ma. Rimlaas, was reported to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s Fire and Rescue Service at around 03:06 am.
Firefighters from the Male’ Fire Station were deployed to the scene, and managed to put out the fire at around 04:12 am.

While the fire did not result in any injuries, it caused massive damages, rendering the house inhabitable.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) says it has arranged temporary accommodation and food for the family living at Rimlaas.
However, the NDMA did not specify the number of people affected.

The cause of the fire is unclear at this point.
