97 recipients were presented National Award for Public Service and 34 individuals were presented the President’s Award for Special Achievement on Tuesday.
The recipients were presented the awards by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during the official reception held on Tuesday morning to commemorate this year’s Republic Day.
The 97 recipients of National Award for Public Service were honored for their unwavering dedication and exemplary service to the state. They include individuals who have served the state between 35 years to 39 years.

One of the notable recipients included former Elections Commission (EC) president Fuad Thaufeeq.
The recipients of National Award for Public Service were presented with a commemorative medal, badge and a certificate.
Meanwhile, the 34 recipients President’s Award for Special Achievement were honored in recognition of their exceptional academic accomplishments.
The President’s Award for Special Achievement is a national honor that recognizes outstanding accomplishments in knowledge, skills, and creativity, achieved through dedication and perseverance. This year’s awards acknowledged achievements from 2022 onwards.

Among the recipients, eight individuals attained Level 10 qualifications under the Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF), twenty-three achieved the highest distinctions in Levels 7, 8, and 9, and two were recognized for winning top honors in international competitions and exhibitions.
They included Dr. Aminath Zahir, who recently graduated as the first person in the Maldives to complete PhD in Dhivehi language.
