17-year-old boy dies in motorcycle crash in Fuvahmulah

A 17-year-old boy died in Fuvahmulah City on early Wednesday, less than an hour after he was taken to the hospital with critical injuries following a motorcycle accident.

The accident, which took place in the Husnuheena Magu in the Funaadu district, was reported to the police at around 02:40 am Wednesday.

According to the police, the initial report is that the 17-year-old lost control of the motorcycle he was driving and crashed into a wall before crashing into a street light.

He sustained critical injuries in the accident, and was rushed to the Fuvahmulah Hospital.

The hospital informed the police at around 03:38 am that he passed away while under treatment, said a police spokesperson.

The accident is under investigation by the police.
