Bangladeshi man injured in stabbing in Male’

An expatriate worker has been attacked with a sharp-edged weapon, in an incident that took place on early Monday in Male’ City.

The incident, which took place in the Shaheed Kudanevi Thuththu Maniku Hingun, was reported to police at around 03:10 am.

A police spokesperson said that a Bangladeshi man was injured after getting assaulted with a “sharp instrument”.

He was taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.

The police did not say if they suspect the involvement of one or more assailants, and have not confirmed any arrests at this point.

The police are investigating this case, said the spokesperson.
