Man injured in stabbing at Hiyaa towers

A Maldivian man sustained injuries on Sunday after getting attacked with a sharp-edged weapon.

The incident took place at the Hiyaa towers, a social housing project in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

An eye witness reported seeing a bleeding man being taken out of the Hiyaa 8 or the H8 Tower in a wheelchair at around 03:50 pm.

The witness told Sun that the man had multiple wounds, and that those with him said he was stabbed with a knife.

“He was bleeding profusely. He had a piece of cloth wrapped around his lower body,” said the witness.

He was taken to the Hulhumale’ Hospital with the assistance of the police.

Neither the police nor the hospital were immediately available for comment regarding the case.
