Police to expand operations in Hulhumale’ Phase II

Maldives Police Service held discussions with Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Saturday, May 17, towards expanding the authority’s operations in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

Seniors from the law enforcement authority and HDC took part in the discussions held at Iskandharu Koshi. The two entities discussed ways of strengthening police vigilance and protection of the public in Phase II.

HDC Deputy Managing Director Fayyaz Mansoor, Chief Planning Officer Ahmed Zinaf, Commercial Acting Division Head Ahmed Aslam, and Director of Business Development and Sales Ahmed Rabeeu attended Saturday’s discussions with police.

Deputy Commissioners of Police Ismail Naveen and Faruhad Fikuree along with Assistant Commissioner of Police Moosa Ali attended on behalf of the law enforcement authority.

While police have discussed on increasing its presence in Phase II, the authority’s policies have been revised to ensure increased presence of police officers across Male’ City to address the increasing number of road accidents in the city.

Criminal conduct including theft and drug-related issues have been increasing in Phase II, due to which a designated police unit operates in the area.
