MIB to host Guesthouse Symposium and Awards together this year

The Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) Guest House Symposium will be held together with the Guest House Awards Ceremony this year.

MIB’s Guest House Symposium and Guest House Awards are usually held separately. However, MIB said this year’s symposium will differ from the format typically used in Maldives. The 2026 symposium will feature a single panel discussion on a key industry topic and a keynote speech delivered by an expert.

MIB guesthouse symposia usually include three panel discussions. The bank said the decision to hold only one panel this year is intended to highlight an important issue for the guesthouse sector and allow more participants to contribute ideas.

The MIB Guest House Symposium and Awards Ceremony will take place at the Barceló Nasandhura Hotel on the October 15th Thursday.

With support from the National Guest House and Hotel Association, MIB initiates the annual symposium to discuss challenges facing the guesthouse sector and ways to overcome them. Past symposiums have enabled small businesses to meet guesthouse owners and managers directly and explore new opportunities.

This is the third guesthouse symposium organized by MIB.
