Three youths arrested in Lhaviyani drug operations; 43 packets of suspected drugs recovered

Three youths have been arrested in Lhaviyani Atoll after police recovered 43 packets of suspected drugs in two operations conducted in Naifaru and Olhuvelifushi.

Those arrested are Anas Abdullah (19) of Hiyyvaru/Lh. Naifaru, Mohamed Mifzal (25) of Kotharivilla/Lh. Olhuvelifushi, and Ahmed Adil (20) of Dime-villa/Lh. Olhuvelifushi.

Anas Abdullah and Mohamed Mifzal were arrested in a joint operation carried out by Olhuvelifushi Police, Kurendhoo Police, Naifaru Police, and Counter Narcotics Intelligence. The two were taken into custody under a court order, and officers recovered two cellophane bags and 43 rubber packets containing suspected drugs weighing 3.93 grams from their room.

The second operation was conducted in connection with a case of alleged drug trafficking in Naifaru, where police recovered two rubber packets containing suspected drugs with a provisional weight of 10.79 grams from Ahmed Adil.

Following their arrest, Anas Abdullah and Mohamed Mifzal were remanded for one day, while Ahmed Adil was remanded for five days.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
