Ahmed Nizam, former Deputy Minister at the Youth Ministry, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the State Electric Company (STELCO).
Nizam, who previously served as a Deputy Minister under the current administration, was appointed to the STELCO board on Sunday.
His professional career includes distinguished service with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard from 2004 to 2012. During his tenure, he served as a diver with the Coast Guard Fleet and held the rank of Corporal aboard the Coast Guard vessel 'Ghazi'. He also completed specialized training in open-water, advanced, and rescue diving.
Additionally, Nizam has extensive experience in construction, resort development, project management, and administrative leadership. He has overseen numerous resort construction and renovation projects, managing a range of technical operations within the industry.
Nizam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah and Law from Villa College, along with postgraduate qualifications in the same field.
