Man rescued from tetrapods leaves IGMH mid-treatment at his own request

The man who was trapped among the tetrapods near the Male' Skate Park has suspended his treatment at his own request, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) said on Sunday.

The incident occurred last Friday. Police received a report at 5:16 pm that a man was stuck in the tetrapods of the outer breakwater opposite the Skate Park. He was rescued from the area and transported to IGMH that evening.

According to IGMH, the patient was treated in the emergency room but left the hospital on his own after suspending further treatment.

The man rescued from the tetrapods is a 50-year-old Maldivian man.
