IGMH invites medical graduates to apply for next internship cycle starting on 11 October

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has opened applications for its latest round of medical internships, giving fresh graduates the long-awaited chance to step into real wards instead of merely observing them from the sidelines of their MBBS years.

The program is conducted with an allowance of MVR 10,000 under the new salary structure.

According to the announcement, doctors wishing to participate in the 13th round of internship must submit their applications before the 24th of this month. Applications will be accepted at the National Health Care Academy at Dharumavantha Hospital.

Applications will be accepted from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on non-official holidays, a narrow window that encourages applicants to arrive with purpose rather than procrastination.

IGMH normally opens 15 internship slots, but the number has been increased to 24 in this round.

Applicants must submit an attested copy of their MBBS completion certificate, accredited by the MQA.

In addition, a police clearance certificate and a Certificate of Provisional Medical Registration from the Maldives Medical and Dental Council must also be submitted.

Apart from IGMH, medical internships are also conducted at Hulhumale' Hospital and Addu Equatorial Hospital. Among private hospitals, the program is conducted only at ADK Hospital.

All students undergoing internship in government hospitals will receive the MVR 10,000 allowance.

The internship is scheduled to begin on the 11th of next month, marking the start of a new cohort stepping into clinical practice.
