The Police have launched an investigation into an alleged case of bullying, physical and psychological abuse of a minor on an island in northern Maldives.
According to the Police, the case was reported on Sunday from an island within the Upper North Police Region. The Police stated that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness, with an investigation now underway in collaboration with other relevant institutions.
Notably, the Police have issued an urgent appeal to the public and media, urging them not to publish videos of the incident or any information that could reveal the identity of the victim on social media or other platforms. The public has also been urged to refrain from further circulating such content.
