A speeding motorcycle veered out of control and crashed into two more vehicles on the Sinamale’ Bridge on Sunday night, leaving three people injured.
The three-vehicle pileup, which occurred on the Male’-Hulhumale’ lane, was reported to the police at around 07:20 pm Sunday.
According to the police, the accident took place when a speeding motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle and crashed onto the ground, colliding with a second motorcycle and a car.
The accident resulted in injuries to three people; two people on one of the motorcycles and a sole rider on the other one.
A police spokesperson said on Monday that one of the individuals – identified as a 20-year-old Maldivian male - sustained serious injuries in the crash and is being treated at the Hulhumale’ Hospital.
The accident is under investigation by the police.
The motorcycle crash had marked the second accident on the Sinamale’ Bridge on Sunday night alone.
