Maldives to play China in friendly match during FIFA international break

The Maldives national football team will play a friendly match against China during the upcoming FIFA international break, Sun has learned through reliable sources.

According to information received by Sun, the match will be played on September 24 in China.

Following the friendly, Maldives will play two additional matches in the same FIFA window, both in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.  

Maldives will face Kyrgyzstan on September 28. Kyrgyzstan is ranked 106th in the FIFA rankings and 19th in Asia.

The team will then play Lebanon on October 1, a side ranked 107th globally and 20th in Asia.

These fixtures are considered the most important set of matches for Maldives under head coach István Urbányi, as the team prepares for the CAF Championship to be held in Bangladesh in November.
