MIB expands presence in Baa atoll with new ATMs and Eydhafushi branch

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has launched 24-hour ATM services in three islands of Baa Atoll, expanding access to basic banking services across the region.

The new ATMs have been installed in Kendhoo, Goidhoo and Thulhaadhoo.

Finance Minister Hassan Zareer inaugurated the services during ceremonies held in each island. The events were attended by members of the island councils, MIB Deputy CEO Ahmed Riza, Head of Distribution Ibrahim Shuhail, and Chief Experience Officer Neerain Jaleel.

With the newly deployed machines, MIB will provide round-the-clock deposit and withdrawal services to residents of Baa Atoll. The bank said the expansion aims to strengthen its nationwide network and ensure customers can access essential financial services with greater convenience.

In addition to the ATM rollout, MIB has opened a full branch in Eydhafushi, further enhancing its presence in the atoll. The branch was officially inaugurated by Finance Minister Zareer at a special ceremony held in the island.

The new branch replaces MIB’s former sales centre in Eydhafushi and now offers comprehensive banking services, including account opening, financing solutions and other core banking facilities under one roof.

Customers will also be able to deposit and withdraw both MVR and US dollars through the ATMs installed alongside the branch.
