Waqf Fund collects over MVR 3 million in donations

The Islamic Waqf Fund has collected over MVR 3 million in donations so far this year through Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA)’s website.

Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said on Tuesday that the donations all came from donation links on MIRA’s website.

Shaheem stressed that the money will be spent strictly on initiatives listed in the Waqf Fund’s trust statement.

Islamic Waqf Fund, managed by the Islamic Ministry, is a comprehensive fund established to provide financial support for activities related to the promotion of Islamic affairs, Islamic Dawah, Islamic education, and the advancement of Islamic civilization.

The fund focuses on projects such as the construction and maintenance of mosques, providing scholarships and resources for Islamic education, and establishing Islamic libraries.

It also contributes to humanitarian efforts such as providing aid to the underprivileged, funding healthcare initiatives, and supporting the development of Hafiz training programs.
