Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has installed water and electricity services in the A Zone of Male' North Harbour.

In a press release issued Tuesday, MPL said it has completed the work required to provide water and electricity services to vessels using Zone A. The area previously had no utility services, with electricity and water available only in Zones B and C.

MPL recently completed the second segment of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu development project and reopened the North Harbour area as instructed by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. Following the reopening, the company began work in March to extend utility services to Zone A.

The introduction of water and electricity services in Zone A is expected to provide additional convenience to boats operating in the area. According to MPL, the zone can now supply electricity to 48 vessels at a time, and 16 water supply points have been installed.
