Maldives and Saudi Arabia engaged in discussions on enhancing defense cooperation on Tuesday.
Talks were held during Defense Minister Hassan Rasheed’s current visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
During the visit, the Minister discussed further strengthening of bilateral relations.
In the meeting, the two ministers reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation in the defense sector. They also discussed regional and international developments, along with efforts to maintain security and stability in the region.

During the visit, the Minister also met Major General Abdullah bin Hamid al‑Quraishi, Deputy Military Commander of Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC).
In that meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in counter‑terrorism and expand efforts to conduct joint exercises and enhance bilateral technical capabilities.
