Male' City Councillor for North Hulhumale' Fathimath Zahiyya (Zaya) says the lack of proper bus stops in the area surrounding the 4,000 Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) flats has become a major concern for residents.

Zaya, along with Mayor Adam Azim, met with the Fahi Union last week.

According to the council, Zaya told the meeting that the absence of a designated bus stop near the Fahi flats is creating daily difficulties for the people living in the area.

She noted that the limited bus service is especially challenging for schoolchildren and office‑goers, who struggle with long walks and inconsistent access to public transport.

Mayor Azim said he would meet with the relevant authorities to find a swift solution to the issue.

Bus services in Male' and several atolls are operated by MTCC. While bus stops are available in the Hiyaa flat area, no such facilities have been established near the Fahi flats.

MTCC could not be reached for comment.
