President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said Thursday evening that both MDP administrations had implemented anti‑Islamic policies, and that his government would “give victory to Islam” regardless of what foreign countries or organizations may say.
Speaking at a rally held at the ruling PNC’s main party camp in Male' city, the President criticized the MDP for appointing individuals involved in producing the Maldives Democracy Network (MDN) report, a document he said belittled the most fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith.
He said anti‑religious policies were carried out during both President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration and the earlier government of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
Maldives is a 100 percent Islamic country, he said, and therefore “there should be only victory for Islam” in this nation.

“We will continue in this way. No matter what anyone says about it, whether foreign countries or foreign organizations, we do not care,” he said.
Criticizing the Nasheed administration, the President said it had promoted an “alternative narrative”, a search for guidance outside the Qur’an and the Hadith of the Prophet. He said no Maldivian would wish to see such a day return.
The President said he places the national interest above all else, adding that the ruling PNC’s policy is to prioritize the welfare of the people and the country.
“We are bound together as one. This is a strong party. There is no division among us. No one should attempt to divide this party,” he said.
He said the PNC government would work to shape a Dhivehinge Raajje grounded in nationalism and religion, placing both at the forefront of its governance.
