The award honors 100 outstanding young changemakers from across the Commonwealth, celebrating what would have been the late monarch’s 100th birthday on April 21, and her long-standing belief in the role of youth in shaping communities and the future.

Reem was selected for the QECT 100 Young Leaders Award in recognition of her impactful work in driving social change and empowering women in the Maldives.

Reem is a social impact leader and co-founder of FEM Health Maldives, an NGO focused on advancing women’s health, reproductive rights, and community wellbeing.

With a professional background in architecture and over a decade of experience, she blends technical expertise with grassroots advocacy.

In 2013, she received the President’s Badge, one of the highest recognitions in Maldivian youth development, reflecting her early commitment to leadership and service.

The QECT 100 Young Leaders Award aims to raise the global profile of emerging leaders, enabling them to expand their impact while promoting sustainable development in their communities.

The award ceremony will take place at St James’ Palace, the most senior royal palace in London, England, in June.
