Bank of Maldives (BML) has supported the development of a sensory classroom, “IWonder,” at Aminiya School, as part of its ongoing efforts to contribute to various sectors of the community.
Over 170 students are currently enrolled in the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) classes.
The classroom has been designed to provide an appropriate and supportive learning environment for students. Under this initiative, the Bank provided the necessary equipment and maintenance support to establish the facility, including key enhancements to improve the overall learning setting, as well as the installation of specialised features and resources tailored to students’ developmental needs.
BML has previously extended support for the development of SEN classrooms and the procurement of essential equipment across multiple schools. These include initiatives at Imaduddin School, Hiriya School, Salahuddin School, Veymandoo School, and Gaafaru School. In addition, over recent years, the Bank has supplied essential equipment to SEN classrooms in 40 schools nationwide.
Supporting students with special educational needs remains a strategic priority for BML, with continued investment in resources aimed at strengthening inclusive education.
