New route added to RTL ferry service, linking Dhuvaafaru and Ungoofaaru

The Transport Ministry on Wednesday announced the decision to introduce a new route to the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) public ferry service, linking R. Dhuvaafaru and R. Ungoofaaru.

According to the ministry, the new rote will be in service starting Thursday.

The ministry said that the decision marks the fulfillment of a pledge President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu made during a visit to R. Atoll last year.

The new Dhuvaafaru-Ungoofaaru route will operate three times a day, except for Fridays.

Timings:

• From 08:00 am to 08:30 am
• From 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm
• From 04:00 pm to 04:30 pm

The ministry said that the new route improves convenience, and saves both money and time for people who travel between the two islands, while also improving access to medical care and boosting trade in the region.
