The Bank of Maldives (BML) has signed a three‑year agreement with the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) to sponsor the national football teams.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony on Monday, with BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef signing on behalf of the bank, and FAM President Ahmed Thoriq signing on behalf of the association.
Under the partnership, BML becomes the exclusive sponsor of the national senior men’s, senior women’s, and youth teams.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shareef said BML is proud to renew its partnership with FAM and continue supporting the country’s football talent.
“By providing assistance to national football teams, our hope is to promote football in Maldives and bring a promising vision to future generations,” he said, noting that the bank places strong emphasis on developing sports in the country.

FAM President Thoriq said the agreement reflects the bank’s confidence in the association and its efforts to revive Maldivian football.
“This partnership will not only support our national teams, but also facilitate the promotion and development of football across the country,” he said.
BML has a long history of supporting football and has sponsored the national teams for many years.
