Addu City’s Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo districts will be holding a firework display on Sunday night to mark success in the referendum held on Saturday regarding the composition of Addu City Council where both districts voted in favor establishing councils, formally seeking administrative independence from Addu City Council.
The firework display will be held at Hulhumeedhoo harbor area at 8:30pm. It is an initiative of Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid, a ruling party lawmaker, and Meedhoo MP Abdul Rahman, who was elected independently.
Sun was unable to get further information regarding the matter, as Shahid did not respond to calls.
