Two expatriates were involved in a physical altercation in Male’ city on Sunday, resulting in one individual sustaining a head wound.
Police reported to media outlets on Sunday evening that an incident involving two men fighting was reported at approximately 19:11 in Asuruma Goalhi, Male’ City.
The injured individual received medical treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Both individuals involved in the incident are currently in police custody.
Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Clashes between expatriates are a recurring issue in the Maldives, with some incidents leading to severe, and at times fatal, injuries.
