Teen throws away drugs after spotting police, gets detained

A teenager was arrested from Hulhumale’ after he allegedly threw away drugs upon spotting patrolling police officers.

Maadhin Mohamed Naseer, 19, Maajehige, Th. Thimarafushi, was arrested from the Kanneli Jetty area in Hulhumale’ Phase I.

According to police, Maadhin, who was in the backseat of a motorcycle that was driving past the area, threw something away upon spotting the officers.

The police collected the discarded items and found five rubber packets containing suspected drugs.

According to police, Maadhin was remanded in custody of the police for 10 days when presented before the court.

The case is under further investigation by the police.
