Moosa's body brought to Male', burial on Sunday

The body of Moosa Ibrahim, 29, Nalahiya, L. Maavah, who died from a knife wound to his neck on the 28th of last month, has been brought back to the Maldives following an autopsy.

Despite the family's desire for an immediate burial, Moosa's body was initially brought to Male' on the night of his death for further analysis. 

A week later, police announced that his body had been sent to India for an autopsy.

Police confirmed that Moosa’s body was returned to the Maldives on Saturday evening after the autopsy was conducted, though no further details were provided.

According to the Male’ City Council’s funeral page on Facebook, Moosa's funeral will be held at the Aasaharaa (Machangolhi Cemetery) after noon on Sunday.

Mohamed Ibrahim, 29, of Asaree Manzil, HDh. Nolhivaranfaru, has confessed in court to killing Moosa. He has been remanded in jail pending the outcome of his trial. 

Moosa was killed during a physical altercation between the two men over a drug case. Mohamed Ibrahim, the accused, also has a criminal record.
