Man arrested for setting ablaze a room while intoxicated

A man set ablaze a room at his own house last night, which burned down most items inside beyond use.

Maldives Police Service said they received a report at approximately 9:30pm last night from Omadhoo after a man, while intoxicated, caused a disturbance at his own house by yelling profanities, damaging household items and setting ablaze one of the rooms.  

The man has been identified as Ahmed Nafiu, 32, Stella, ADh. Omadhoo.  

According to the Police, although the fire burned down most items inside the room beyond use, no one was injured in the incident.

The case is under further investigation by the authority.
