Popular food blogger Mark Wiens, who journeys around the world tasting and reviewing various culinary offerings, is currently in the Maldives, exploring the flavors of Maldivian cuisine.

Wiens, who has over 900,000 subscribers on Youtube alone, is an American full-time travel food blogger currently based

He has earned praise for his ability to eat Thai food with the same ease as locals, despite its intense spiciness. During his travels across the globe, he has put to test various spicy cuisines.  This time around in the Maldives, he is exploring the heated flavors of some of the spiciest Maldivian cuisines.

Wiens is vlogging his visits to various Maldivian regions where he explores different Maldivian cuisines. In his first vlog from the Maldives, Wiens samples traditional Maldivian fish soup and curry made with freshly caught grouper, accompanied by collard (kopy faiy) mashuni as a side dish at a resort. All the dishes were prepared with typical Maldivian spice levels, yet Weins goes a step further by eating raw chili alongside the meal— a habit commonly seen among Maldivians.

Wiens had nothing but praise for the dishes.

At present, the American food blogger is on an island, where he will experience additional Maldivian cuisines. He is scheduled to post a full video, depicting his experience in the Maldives.

Wiens, who is also meeting locals during his trip, met with Zuvaan Dhanduveriya some two days ago. Zuvaan Dhanduveriya hosted him at his farm, where he had the opportunity to test local agricultural products.
