Three rehabs converted to drug remand centers

Three drug rehabilitation centers in southern Maldives have been converted to remand centers for drug offenders, where they will be provided with detoxification services.

The Home Ministry has announced that three drug remand centers as required under Article 47 (b) of the Drug Act were established on Sunday. They are:

  • GDh. Thinadhoo Drug Detoxification and Community Rehabilitation Center
  • Gn. Fuvahmulah Drug Detoxification and Community Rehabilitation Center
  • S. Hulhudhoo Vilunu Center

All three centers are run by the National Drug Agency (NDA).
