Police investigate after nude photo of woman displayed on Vinares billboard

The police have launched an investigation after a nude photo of a woman was displayed on early Thursday on a billboard at a Vinares tower in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

The incident was reported to the police at 03:23 am Thursday.

According to police, the photo was displayed on a billboard at a shop located at Vinares Tower 3.

How such a photo came to be displayed is being looked into further, said the police.

The possession, production and distribution of pornographic content is banned in the Maldives. The production, import, sale and distribution of such images is subject to a prison sentence of nine months.
