From Ho Chi Minh to Danang: Oefaru opens Vietnam to Maldivian families

Oefaru Aviation Services, the official General Sales Agent (GSA) for VietJet Airlines in Maldives, has introduced Vietnam as an ideal new holiday destination for Maldivian families.

The announcement was made during a special media briefing held in V. Fulidhoo, where the company highlighted VietJet’s upcoming flights to Maldives and the travel opportunities they will create for local travellers.

The briefing, held across Friday and Saturday, focused on VietJet’s new flight operations scheduled to begin on December 5 this year. The service will connect Ho Chi Minh City, Colombo and Male', operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. According to Oefaru, the route will expand regional travel options and offer Maldivian families easier access to Vietnam’s diverse tourism experiences.

During the session, Oefaru positioned Vietnam as a cost-effective and unique destination, noting that the true cost of an overseas holiday depends on accommodation, meals, domestic transport, recreational activities and other expenses beyond airfare. To illustrate this, the company shared a sample budget estimating that a family of four could expect to spend USD 2,000 to USD 3,000 for a seven-night holiday in Vietnam, excluding international airfare. The estimate covers accommodation, food, domestic travel, sightseeing and emergency expenses, while noting that actual costs vary based on travel dates, chosen destinations and accommodation quality.

Oefaru also showcased Vietnam’s tourism highlights, including the vibrant city life of Ho Chi Minh City, the beaches of Danang, the historic streets of Hoi An, the iconic Golden Bridge in Ba Na Hills, and the natural scenery of northern Vietnam. The company further discussed ways to ease foreign-exchange arrangements and international payments for Maldivian families planning trips.

As VietJet prepares to launch its flights in December, Oefaru Aviation Services will continue providing booking support and travel-related information to travellers exploring Vietnam as their next holiday destination.
