23-year-old held for fake payment slip scam

A young man has been arrested for ordering food using an invalid bank slip. The Criminal Court ordered the arrest of the accused, a 23-year-old man from GDh.Faresmaathoda, after he repeatedly obtained food by sending a fake payment slip.

According to the remand order, police submitted sufficient evidence showing that the suspect had ordered food multiple times and collected the items after sending an invalid slip as proof of payment. The court noted that the youth has a prior criminal record.

He was remanded in custody for 15 days.

Police have arrested several individuals in recent months in connection with cases involving the use of invalid bank slips to obtain goods and services.
