India ecommerce platform ‘Global Ducan’ to begin accepting MVR payments

Popular Indian ecommerce platform Global Ducan has announced the decision to begin accepting payments in Maldivian currency.

The shopping site announced that it will begin accepting payments in Maldivian Rufiyaa on Friday.

“Starting 25th September, you can shop from India and pay in MVR – making your favorite products just a little closer to home,” announced Global Ducan via its social media pages on Monday.

Global Ducan is a platform that allows people to shop from some of the most popular marketplaces in India, including Amazon, Myntra, and Nykaa.

The platform was introduced to the Maldives back in May, in collaboration with Maldives Post and India Post.

Global Ducan’s decision to accept payments in Maldivian currency comes amid limits imposed by the Bank of Maldives (BML) on US dollar transactions from global ecommerce platforms.
