Police search for man wanted for questioning in scam probe

Police issued a public announcement on Thursday, stating they were searching for a man wanted for questioning in a case under investigation by the Anti-Scam Center.

According to police, the current whereabouts of Mohamed Imad, 46, Kashisuthulige, S. Hithadhoo, were unknown, making them unable to serve him with summons to bring him in for questioning.

He has been told to present himself for questioning to the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building in Male’ at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on September 17.

The public announcement comes amid a rise in scam cases in the Maldives, resulting in the theft of millions of Rufiyaa.
