The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced plans to construct a new office building in Hulhumale' on a contractor‑finance basis.

According to the announcement, the project will cover an area of 8,064 square metres, addressing the space constraints currently faced by the MMA. The building will include areas for administration, cash handling and management, as well as a training and conference hall. It will also house office units for financial institutions.

The MMA said the new facility is intended to provide adequate space for the security of the state treasury and to meet the safety requirements of banks and financial institutions.

Under the proposed financing model, the contractor will fund 85-90 percent of the project cost, while the remaining amount will be financed by the MMA.

Interested parties have been invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) to the MMA before 11:00 am on October 6.
