MACL inaugurates Aviation Institute, awards certificates to first graduating batch

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has inaugurated its Aviation Institute of Maldives (AIM) and awarded certificates to the first batch of students who completed training at the institute.

Certificates were handed over by MACL Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. Special awards for the top-performing students were presented by the chief guest of the ceremony, Maldives National University (MNU) Chancellor Dr. Mahamood Shougee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shareef said the objective of the Aviation Institute is to build the professionals needed for the aviation sector in Maldives. He said the institute reflects MACL’s long-term vision to train skilled employees for airports.

A total of 29 students completed the Airport Security Management course and received their certificates at the ceremony. The course is a foundation-level program developed in accordance with Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) standards and aligned with the National Qualifications Framework.

MACL said the three-month course was conducted from June 1 to September 9 last year. The program is designed specifically to train new recruits joining MACL’s Estate Security Services and forms part of the company’s efforts to further strengthen the safety and security of passengers traveling through Velana International Airport (VIA).
