19-year-old remanded 45 days over gang violence

A 19-year-old man from G.Dh.Gadhdhoo was arrested and remanded in custody for 45 days by the Criminal Court on Saturday.

The court ruled that the evidence submitted by police was sufficient to pursue charges. The evidence includes witness testimony, snapshots of CCTV footage, intelligence reports and the medico-legal report of an injured minor.

The court stated that releasing the suspect could pose a threat to public safety, and therefore ordered that he remain in custody for 45 days.

Police are investigating the matter as a serious case involving gang violence and damage to property.
