MIFCO has announced that its retail fish outlets will now open on Fridays as part of efforts to expand its business and strengthen customer services.
With the change, shops will be open from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Fridays. On other days of the week, outlets will operate from 8:30 am to 11:00 pm, except during prayer hours.
MIFCO said its outlets in Male', Hulhumale' and Addu will begin providing services under the new schedule from Saturday.
The company said the decision was made to ensure access to fresh fish on Fridays, when family gatherings and lunch specials are a priority. MIFCO also plans to introduce a variety of Friday-only products.
The company added that the change will make it easier for people working on official days to buy fish and other MIFCO products during the weekend. Many customers prefer to purchase fish on Fridays, and MIFCO described the new schedule as a major convenience.
MIFCO introduced the change at a time when operations have resumed in Kanduoiygiri, and a dried fish factory and ice plant have recently been opened on the island to ensure continuous supply to the Male' area. These projects have increased MIFCO’s productivity and its ability to meet customer demand, the company said.
