VFS Global to run short-term UK visa application clinic at Maagiri Hotel

A temporary UK visa clinic will be held in Male' in the second week of next month, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

The clinic is scheduled for 10 to 12 August and will take place at Maagiri Hotel. It will be operated by VFS Global.

Maldivians wishing to apply for a UK visa have been advised to complete their online application through the official GOV.UK portal and book an appointment before attending the clinic.

The ministry noted that the service is organised annually, especially to assist students travelling to the United Kingdom for higher education. The temporary clinic allows applicants to complete biometric enrolment and submit required supporting documents in Male', without needing to travel overseas.

Although VFS Global refers to the service as a “Temporary Visa Clinic,” officials clarified that it functions as a short-term visa application centre. The term is used because the setup is not a full, permanent Visa Application Centre, but a limited-duration facility offering core services such as biometrics and document submission.
